Support

Support for Waka, Kaha, Tohe, and all Apex Labs software is handled directly by the people who build it — which means answers come from someone who knows the code, sails the boat, and does the training.

Get help

Email support@apexlabs.co.nz and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. We're in New Zealand (NZT), and we answer most messages within two working days — often much faster, occasionally slower if we're on passage somewhere without signal, which we hope you'll agree is the right reason for this studio's support to be delayed.

Help us help you

For questions or problems with any of our apps, the following makes a fast, useful answer much more likely:

Beta testing

During beta periods, our apps are distributed through Apple's TestFlight. Beta feedback — including crash reports sent through TestFlight's built-in feedback tools — goes straight to the development build queue. Email ben@apexlabs.co.nz with the app's name as the subject ("Waka", "Kaha", or "Tohe") if you'd like to be considered for a beta place.

A note on navigation safety

Waka is a planning and situational-awareness aid, not a certified navigation system. Always carry and consult official charts and publications, and never let any app override the judgement of the skipper. If you believe Waka has shown you something misleading, we want to know about it urgently — that's the most important category of support email we can receive.

A note on training

Kaha and Tohe are training aids, not medical advice. If something in either app seems to be pushing you harder than is sensible for you, tell us — a plan that doesn't respect its athlete is a bug.
